About ECUS at Eglin Air Force Base
About Eglin AFB – Located along the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida is Eglin AFB, the largest base in the U.S. Air Force. It is comprised of more than 460,000 acres of reservation land with approximately 60M acres of over water airspace referred to as the Eglin Gulf Test and Training Range (EGTTR) – the largest water test range in the continental U.S. Eglin AFB is home to more than 40 Tenant Commands, including Air Force, Navy, Army, Space Command, Marines, Coast Guard, McKinley Climactic Lab, Support Detachments, and Air Wings.
About ECUS – In 2016, Emerald Coast Utility Services (ECUS) was established to provide comprehensive water and wastewater services to support Eglin Air Force Base’s diverse mission, including weapons development, testing, evaluation, and sustainment. ECUS manages 15 public water systems and 21 State Water Permits, and supports all three military services at Eglin. We own and oversee a variety of utility assets not only on the main base, but also on a variety of outlying areas, to include Duke Field, the 7th Special Forces Group, and various East and West Range sites.
