About ONUS at Fort Bragg
About Fort Bragg – In the center of North Carolina lies Fort Bragg, one of the largest installations in the world. The main base encompasses 251 square miles and is home to the largest population of soldiers. Fort Bragg is home to many Army commands including the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), which is responsible for the readiness of more than 75% of the Army’s force structure and 87% of the Army’s combat power, Joint Special Operations and United States Army Special Operations Commands, as well as serving as a primary Global Response Force (GRF) deployment station.
About ONUS – The base was put under the care of Old North Utility Services, Inc. (ONUS) in 2008, marking the start of a 50-year contract to oversee water and wastewater systems for the headquarters, Aberdeen Training Facility, Camp Mackall, and their surrounding airfields, including Pope Army Airfield and Simmons Army Airfield. Our state-certified operators ensure the safe delivery of all potable water and the secure removal of wastewater, carefully adhering to both local and federal regulations. Through our continued commitment to environmental excellence and partnership efforts with the Energy Manager and local DPW personnel, ONUS assisted the Installation in exceeding energy and water management goals which resulted in a Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Award for Energy Efficiency, Secretary of the Army Energy Management and Conservation Award, Federal Energy and Water Management Program Award, and an Annual award for Installation Excellence.
