American States Utility Services, Inc. is the leader in privatization of water and wastewater on military installations across the nation.

In April of 1928, a collection of 33 independent water utilities merged to form the basis of the holding company now called American States Water Company (AWR). The company is one of the largest private water utilities in the United States serving people in 81 communities throughout five states. American States Water Company is the holding company for Golden State Water Company (GSWC), American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS), and Chaparral City Water Company (CCWC). Robert J. Sprowls is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. American States Water Company was incorporated in the State of California in 1998.
