Joint Base Andrews

ABOUT ASUS

Located just outside the nation’s capital, Joint Base Andrews plays a critical role in ensuring our country’s security. Home of both Air Force One and the 89th Military Airlift Wing (responsible for transporting our senior government leaders and visiting dignitaries) the installation is the cornerstone of the military in the Washington, D.C. area. Since early 2006, Terrapin Utility Services, Inc. (TUS) has been extremely proud to support the base’s personnel and families by serving as the sole operator of its water and wastewater systems.

TUS oversees the maintenance, assessment, and improvement of both water and wastewater systems across the entire 7,000-acre base. Under its supervision is a variety of utility assets, including 400,000 feet of water piping, another 400,000 feet of wastewater piping, and 58 lift stations. With a deep commitment to customer care, TUS works diligently to protect every drop of water. As a utility provider, we constantly analyze our distribution and collection systems to determine which areas might need repair, replacement, or even supplementary facilities.

TUS also puts a strong focus on water efficiency, actively providing educational outreach for customers to further encourage better resource management. We at TUS are proud to be able to provide our services to the 21,000 military personnel, civilians, and family members who live and work at Joint Base Andrews.

We are honored to support the role these military installations play in defending the country, both at home and abroad.
